"Jaquelin was our doula for the birth of our daughter in August.  From the moment we met Jaquelin we knew she was the person to take this journey with us.

From my wife...

When I reflect on my pregnancy and birthing experience, I think of three very important people: my husband, my new daughter and our loving doula Jaquelin. Jaquelin's warmth, compassion and experience guided me through the concerns and questions that come up during this extraordinary time.  Under Jaquelin's loving care I felt empowered and confident that I could have the natural birth experience that I had been planning.

On the day of our daughter's birth Jaquelin's strength, soothing voice, her understanding and her amazing touch is what allowed me to have the natural birth experience I so wanted.

Just thinking about Jaquelin makes me smile from ear to ear.  She will always be so special to our family!" Adam and Catherine K

"Laboring women of all cultures have universal needs. Among these are the need to be surrounded by nurturing women, experienced in childbirth, who understand and do not fear the process of giving birth. A doula brings confi dence and deeply held beliefs in a woman’s ability to birth under her own power. She suggests and uses comfort strategies such as massage, hydrotherapy, music, encouragement, visualization, position changes, and relaxation techniques. "

"The best thing a woman can do is to engage the services of a childbirth assistant: a doula,” says Dr. Donald Creevy, Obstetrician. Dr. Christiane Northrup, Obstetrician and author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom states, “It took John Kennell and Mar- shall Klaus six controlled prospective trials on the presence of a doula to prove that the energy field sur- rounding the pregnant woman, the energy of nurturing and caring, those very real, tangible qualities, can effect the labor profoundly. As John Kennell says, “If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it” (Arms 1998).
